Myu! Maat fight coming up! Not an easy feat for White Mage but if you know what your doing it's a breeze. I won on my second try, 1st time around I just went for it and after my horrible loss and given how damn difficult it is to get a White Mage Testimony I got smart and found out from other players how to pull it off. I eventually looked up White Mage Maat fights on Youtube.com and found all the help I ever needed. Your going to need potions and other assortments. Remeber... you don't have to beat Maat with White Mage, that would be impossible, just survive for 4 minutes I believe is the length of time. GOOD LUCK!!!
White mage is pretty flexible for sub jobs since you can use hexa strike with club skills so Ninja makes a cool sub as well. As far as party and raiding I have always used /BLM but there's nothing wrong with /SMN it's just that the auto-refresh isn't really that big a deal, I can get that from Imperial guy when getting signet. You can get MP from gear, especially when joo get into Sky raids and get your Zenith gear, which when all pieces are obtained can give up to 250 MP. MP is the main reason people choose /SMN and as you can see there are plenty of other places to get it. When utilizing /BLM you have a repotoire of great spells at your hands such as Tractor (belive me you will use this a LOT), Warp, job ability Elemental Seal, and lots of damage spells for mobs resitant too White Mage divine magic skills. I have also heard a lot about /SCH these days since the new release of Wings of the Goddess. I personally don't have the expansion and have only seen what Scholar has to offer as a main in parties around 75. I've talked to a few people in my EGLS which claim that /SCH is supreme given the added spells that can restore MP instantly etc. I would give that one a try guys but deffinitly level that Black Mage, your gonna need it eventually.

I've got white mage to 58 and like you i really like the idea of keeping the party alive, and not just that but enfeebling the mobs (dia and slow rule) as well as ensuring that they all can do what they like without fear of death, such a trust worthy position in any party, unlike dragoon, although i love it soooo much.
I'm not in the summoner club yet, i will be as soon as i can face going through QIsland with it. Black mage soon to be gimped so i need to make a decision there hmmmm, what does peoples think?
Im currently level 68 and i really like whm so far :) I feel important because i have to make sure the party stays alive ^^' I just hope i get good parties that dont get me killed 3 times in a row ! haha
I sub summoner for my whm at the mo because i like the extra refresh on top of the one i get from my nobles tunic ^^ Though sometime soon I wanna level up my blm a bit and join in the fun of blowing stuff up ! haha
